At one point my nuclear family lived in Louisiana, first in Buras, a tiny town on the delta, and then in New Orleans. It is here that my sister & I developed an insatiable appetite for shrimp and a healthy respect for the people who work as shrimpers. The green in this painting represents abundance as this troupe of shrimp feed on the plankton in the water.
