Sip & Paint with Audrey at the VFW

The subject was a fairly new painting, "Dusk".

The first ever Sip & Paint I ran at the Cape May VFW (or anywhere!) was held on April 16. A few fearless people signed up, and I was happy to donate half of my earnings to the club to help recover some of their recent renovation costs.

Everything was included, from the paints to step-by-step verbal instructions and a demonstration as I painted along.

Everyone's painting turned out great!

Join us for a future session.

I demonstrated color mixing and composing the scene, then circulated throughout the room as attendees put their own spin on the subject.

Harmonious colors and really nice reflections in the water!

Looks like Van Gogh. I love the sense of motion.

Very good use of color. This artist went a little rogue, but it's up to everyone to do their own thing and enjoy the process.

Nice thick layers of paint and built up color in the trees and grass. It almost looks like a lighthouse keeper standing in the window.

Cotton candy sky and great color blending.

This is the piece I painted in the demonstration. Thank you to the VFW for allowing our group the space for the evening.
