  • What is your name, and where do you live?

Audrey, Cape May, NJ

  • What first drew you to the item and has that sentiment changed in any way?

This is small enough to be simply decorative, but large enough to be functional. Everyone who knows me know I appreciate functional items. I love it! It makes me feel connected to local artists that I know of, but don't really socialize with. Perhaps I should work on expanding my circle.

  • Does this item fit with other parts of your collection, or is it different for you?

I don't normally collect pottery, so it is different for me. (I realize I have said that in a couple blog posts, so maybe I do collect pottery now?) It has a beachy, carefree design that I also don't normally gravitate toward, but the carved and painted glazes are beautiful and in colors that I really love. It simply makes me happy.

  • Where do you display or use it?

It holds a bunch of frequently used items on my desk in my studio, so I see it every day. Maybe I should move it. I just took it into our kitchen to take a photo of it and Bruce said, "That's nice. Is it new?"
